Doing the right thing is at the heart of how we do business at Asda and now more than ever, given the challenging times both retailers and suppliers are facing into, we embrace honest supplier feedback so that we can continue to further strengthen the ways in which we work together.
Every year, the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) asks our supplier partners to provide anonymous feedback on how we have operated under the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP).
It’s my first year as Code Compliance Officer for Asda and I’m very pleased to be able to say that we have once again made an improvement on our overall score from last year, demonstrating that we are consistently doing the right thing by our suppliers and continue to work in compliance with the Code.
Over the six years that the GCA survey has been in place, we have seen significant improvements in our scores, which is testament to the importance that we place on feedback received from our supplier partners. Below is a top-line summary of our results.
- We received responses from 735 direct suppliers to Asda
- We are now ranked 3rd out of 13 designated retailers for overall compliance with the Code.
- 94% of Asda’s suppliers believe that we comply with the code ‘consistently well’ or ‘mostly well’
We will use the detailed results to address the topics where our suppliers feel that our ways of working can still be optimised.
