This summer George has partnered with Peppa Pig to support their World Oceans Day campaign. As part of the campaign, George is offering a range of clothing to celebrate ‘World Oceans Day’ which takes place on Wednesday 8th June. The George clothing collection includes a section of products featuring ocean themed designs and produced using more sustainable and recycled materials.
The partnership follows on from last year when George teamed up with Peppa Pig to support the Plant with Peppa campaign and the planting of new trees in the UK, with the aim to teach children all about the importance of trees to the world.
To celebrate ‘World Oceans Day’ this year, Peppa Pig’s partnership with Cleaner Seas Project and leading educational publisher, Twinkl, will see free Peppa Pig activities and interactive resources provided for families and early learning providers. As 32% of the 78 million tons of plastic packaging produced annually is left floating in our oceans, the equivalent to pouring a rubbish truck filled with plastic into the ocean every minute*, the campaign aims to help raise awareness about the little steps families can do at home to make a big difference to our seas.
The initiative will also see 10 beach and river clean ups organised across the nation throughout June. Children from selected primary schools up and down the country will be encouraged to follow Peppa in taking small steps towards cleaner oceans and a more sustainable future for our planet.
Jade Snart, Sustainability and Compliance Expert at George said: “We are very proud to have partnered with Peppa Pig again, this time to help celebrate World Oceans Day and raising awareness of cleaner oceans and a more sustainable planet. A number of the products within the George range will have a sustainable element to them as here at George we’re committed to doing the right thing by our customers and the planet.”
Cat O’Brien, Retail Director Europe and Asia at Hasbro said “We are thrilled to be working with George again on this Peppa Pig World Oceans Day campaign. In October 2021, we launched our first purpose driven campaign all about educating young families around the importance of helping our planet by planting trees. We are excited to embark on the next campaign which aims to help children learn more about our oceans and what we can do to help reduce litter reaching our shores.”
George’s ‘World Ocean Day’ range will include boys and girls clothing, footwear and accessories, with prices starting from just £4.50. The collection will launch online and in selected stores from 4th June.
