We've one again been providing financial support to the local community through our work with the Asda Foundation – this time to the tune of £4,632.
Communities are struggling and charities are feeling the pressure. Part of my role is to support local projects and help to manage all applications for funding. Through the Feeding Communities fund we were able to support eight different local groups with £4,632 to provide food hampers and meals to individuals, families, school children and the homeless. Successful applicants were Carlton Road Academy (£600), St Thomas CE Primary Academy (£600), Centenary Methodist Church (£432), Salvation Army (£600), Restore Church (£600), Fenside Community Centre (£600), Hawthorn tree School (£600) and Wyberton Primary Academy (£600).
We are now accepting submissions for the Asda Foundation's new Supporting Communities Grant which aims to support groups and charities in three categories: food, hygiene and wellbeing. More information about funding from the Asda Foundation can be found at its website https://www.asdafoundation.org/
