A big thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising for BBC Children in Need – we raised  an amazing £1,800 at our store.

In the run up to Children in Need Day we once again chose to take Pudsey, the charity’s popular bear mascot, around many local schools. The children thoroughly enjoyed it – Year 6 just as much as the younger ones! The children couldn't believe that a superstar from the TV had come into their classroom to see them! You could hear the big intake of breath when they saw Pudsey. He got kisses, high fives, hugs, fist bumps and had his photograph taken with thousands of children from Boston – it was awesome! We wanted to give as many children as possible a chance to meet Pudsey to inspire them and their families to support the appeal, so visited the schools over a five day period – before finishing the week with a fundraising event in the store to give even more children the opportunity to meet Pudsey. Who knows, it might even inspire the children or their parents to go out and take part in a sponsored event for charity – one of the children could grow up to be a great charity fundraiser." The schools we visited with Pudsey are: Boston Nursery School, Wyberton Primary School, Tower Road Academy, St Mary's Primary Academy, Park Academy, Hawthorn Tree Primary School, Fishtoft Academy, Staniland Academy, Boston West Academy, Butterwick Pre-school, Carlton Road Academy, St Thomas Academy, St Nicholas Primary Academy, and Gipsey Bridge Academy. We also made a special visit to Inspire Lincs, a group at Old Leake for young people with learning difficulties.
