Earlier this year our Fareham community champion Heidi ‍ got stopped by the head teacher of Wicor Primary School in her store car park.

She was keen to see how we could get involved with the school. Wicor Primary is not a school either of us had been to and we were delighted to be invited to look around the school and plan a healthy eating on a budget session for the parents and children later this. Heidi and I went to the school and right from the first step we were so impressed. We were greeted by a woodpecker in the car park who happily tapped away next to our cars.  Then we saw the amazing orchard, nature trails, beautiful allotments, small fields that are growing wheat with wild flowers growing among them,  not forgetting the chickens and beehive. The school's whole ethos regarding the environment and learning is very impressive and on a scale we have  not seen before.  We sat down by the school pond and planned our cooking sessions for September.  Heidi and I are really looking forward to going back and running some great outreach activities.
