Mark Simpson

Mark started his career with ASDA in 1997, as a graduate on the Retail Programme. After a running a number of stores in the North East, he relocated to Yorkshire and joined the Finance team as a Commercial Senior Manager. Mark then joined the Central Operations team and held a number of roles before making the move into a Supply Chain role in 2018. During his time in Operations, Mark completed his MBA and also attended the Senior Executive Programme at London business School.
In 2020, Mark was promoted to the ASDA board in a newly created role as Chief Supply Chain Officer with responsibility for Asda Logistic Services (ALS), Supply & Replenishment and Modular planning. During 2021, his role was broadened adding the Technology and Transformation teams to his remit. In addition Mark is the Exco owner of our ‘Future’ project (business separation from Walmart) and also leads our newly formed Loyalty and Data & Analytics teams. He also serves as a Non exec director of IPL, and a trustee director of the ASDA Pension scheme.
Living in North Yorkshire, Mark is a keen cyclist, trail runner and enjoys spending time outdoors with family.
