Simon joined Asda in 2016 as Vice President of Online/E-commerce, where he led Grocery Home Shopping end to end, developing and leading the Online strategy. In 2022 Simon joined the Executive team as Senior Vice President of Online/E-commerce, with broader responsibilities across all of our digital businesses. This unified digital approach has supported both customer and business benefits with leading the strategy and propositional development. The digital portfolio includes Grocery Home Shopping, George.com, and all of the white label online propositions such as Pharmacy, Opticians, Mobile, Gift Cards, Tyres, DSV, and Marketplace.
Simon joined from Tesco where he was the Online Director of Fulfilment Operations spanning Tesco.com, Tesco International .com, Tesco Direct, Tesco F&F clothing, and the Tesco Dropship platform. His time at Tesco involved a varied and broad collection of Senior roles spanning 30 years. This included 20 years in store based Retail, 3 years in Strategy and the Support Office, and finally 7 years in Digital/E-commerce.
Simon has worked in Digital/E-commerce for over 14 years and has experienced first-hand, the rapid growth, shifting customer expectations, and developed the change programs needed to outperform the market, growing share more rapidly than others in the UK’s intensely and competitive market.
Simon is nationally mobile, living in both Leeds and Buckinghamshire, with his wife and two grown up children.
