Hayley is Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer at Asda having joined the Executive Board in 2011. Prior to this she spent 20 years working through the ranks of Tesco both in People and Operations where her last position was UK and Republic of Ireland People Director.
Hayley has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and is a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and a qualified NLP practitioner. Hayley was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for service to the HR profession in 2019. She continues to be an ambassador for the profession with her appointment in 2020 to the editorial panel of the HR Director magazine and was awarded the HRD of the year 2021 from HR Today and named one of the most influential women in UK Retail in 2023.
Passionate about social mobility and in-work skills and education she has been an active member of the Ambassadors Apprenticeship Network since 2007 and has completed her first Non - Executive Director role to the Cabinet Office and advisor to Department of Work and Pensions. She is also a Trustee for Tommys and Grocery Aid and is Remco chair for both charities.
Asda has raised over £60m during its award-winning partnership with Breast Cancer Now and Hayley is both a survivor and an avid sponsor, campaigner and fund raiser for the important work of the charity.
Hayley lives in Buckinghamshire, with her husband, two grown up children and 2 dogs. Whilst juggling the commute to Leeds, she also enjoys family holidays, gardening and personal fitness.
