Naomi takes on 24-day fitness challenge for Tickled Pink

October 21, 2020 10:26 AM

Good luck to our intrepid colleague Naomi Franciosy who's set herself the challenge of completing 24 tasks in 24 days to raise money for our Tickled Pink breast cancer charity campaign.

In recent years Naomi, who works at the Asda Home Office in Leeds, has organised the Asda Three Peaks Challenge which has been supported by up to 300 colleagues.

Due to to social distancing requirements it's had to be be cancelled this year, so to ensure vital funds could be raised for our partner charities Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, Naomi thought up the 24 challenge for herself and others to take part in.

As The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a 24-mile trek, participants are being asked to incorporate those numbers into their fundraising, so it could be a 24-minute challenge, 24 or 2.4-mile challenge, a 24-hour challenge or even a 24-day challenge! The plan is to raise a total of £24,000 as well.

Naomi said: "Every year I'm asked if I’m taking part in the Asda Three Peaks Challenge and my response is I organise it and need to ensure the safety of colleagues on the day so ... but for the 24 challenge it’s been impossible for me to shy away! When a friend suggested I do 24 days of 24 challenges and already had sponsors lined up I couldn’t say no.

"I've been doing things like 24 burpees or 24 press-ups, yoga, and walking for 24 minutes or 2.4 miles. My challenge began on September 30 and and it ends with a Zoom workout with Taylor Training.

"With Covid-19 and working a lot from home we've got ourselves into some bad habits, but this has forced me to leave the house once a day and do some exercise!

"This fundraising is for everyone going through treatment for breast cancer, those who have beat breast cancer and those who have lost loved ones to this horrible disease."
