Norma Urey, a regular customer at our Donnington Wood store, has praised the compassion and wonderful act of kindness of our colleague Tracy Thomas after she arranged for all her shopping to be delivered to her home when her father Bob sadly passed away.

Norma, who orders ingredients for her street food business through Click & Collect at least three times a week and also picks up groceries for vulnerable neighbours, said she was touched by the thoughtfulness of Tracy and her team at such a difficult time.

She'd completely forgotten about the Click & Collect order, but section leader Tracy phoned her for her address so they could deliver it to her instead.

Norma said: "When Tracy called I said 'I haven’t booked a delivery for today', she said 'no but you have other things on your mind so we are bringing it to you'.

"It was such a kind thing to do. It really meant a lot to me. Something like that gives you faith in humanity."

Tracy, who's worked at the store for 20 years, said: "I've been through bereavement and I know at times like that your mind is not always on the ball and the last thing you need to worry about is your shopping. I told Norma we would bring it to her and she was very overwhelmed and grateful.

"It was just the right thing to do. I arranged for the shopping to be put on one of our vans which was passing nearby and our driver Nigel Price dropped it off to her."

Home shopping manager Karl Wallace said: "Tracy always goes above and beyond with colleagues, but this time it was to support a customer. Her kindness is outstanding and she's a credit to the store. We are all proud of her."
