A new Asda mobile is calling - here’s how we give customers more mobile for their money
Katie Walley, Senior Director for Asda Money, Mobile and Gift Cards, explains what the switch to Vodafone’s network means for new and existing customers.
Last year we announced that we would be switching networks and working with Vodafone to help customers get more from Asda mobile.
We wanted to share some great news - our brand-new network is now live! All customers that join from March 2021 will have access to cheaper ‘pay as you go’ rates and even better bundles than before. Whether they want to stream more, play games, use social media or simply call and text, there are bundles starting from just £4 for unlimited minutes and texts, with unlimited data bundles starting from £20.
As well as the great value you would expect from Asda mobile, we now offer even better benefits such as 5G access and a new online account, allowing customers to top-up, buy bundles and view their usage.
Over the coming months we will text all of our current customers to let them know how they can move with us to the new network. These messages will also highlight key dates that current customers need to be aware of:
-
From the 29th July top-up vouchers will no longer be available in store
-
On 16th August customers will no longer be able to purchase bundles
-
The 25th August is the last date customers are able to redeem top-up vouchers
-
The 15th September is the last date customers will be able to move their current phone number to the new network. They will lose the ability to make or receive calls, so need to make sure they take action before this date
Making the switch couldn't be easier for our current customers. They can do this in their online account, pick up a SIM in store and follow a few simple steps, or call our new team on 0808 006 2732 for free from their Asda mobile.
We know that moving your number to a new network can seem complicated and some of our customers might worry they will lose any unused credit, so we’ll also do all of the hard work to make sure that both their phone number and any remaining balance come across with them. If a customer has been with us for a while and thinks their phone might be locked to the EE network, we can also provide an unlock code free of charge to help them get back into their phone once they’ve moved across.
We hope that our customers continue to get the most from Asda Mobile. Our commitment to offer a competitive, great value service that meets the needs of our customers in 2021 and beyond, is more focused than ever before.
