Our Leyton Mills store's optical manager Sobia Jabeen has been going out of her way to put smiles on the faces of her customers for the last 14 years – so colleagues at the store are delighted to see how happy she was to receive some great feedback from one of her regular customers.
The customer wrote in to say: "I have been a customer of Sobia for nearly 10 years and she always puts a smile on my face when I go there. Her customer service is brilliant. She always makes sure to sort out any problems that I have.
"She is always willing to help and is a credit to Asda. Any time I speak with Sobia I know I'm going to be looked after."
Sobia joined the store as an optical adviser in 2007 and says she loves her job – and hearing the customer's kind words.
She said: "I really appreciate the customer taking the time to write in like that – it really means a lot.
"I love to work for Asda and I'm proud to be part of the team here. The last year has been a real challenge, but it's wonderful to know that we're making a difference to customers' days.
"After 14 years people recognise you and your regular customers get to know you. Our customers always come first, so I always appreciate their customer and will help them however I can.
Sobia leads a team of seven at the store and says everyone's gone the extra mile for customers during the pandemic.
"I'm proud of all of them," she said. "Everyone is always happy to help and will always do everything they can for customers. This recognition really could be for anyone in the team, not just me, because we really do work together as a team."
The store's community champion Grace Wypych said: " Thank you Sobia for being a customer service star! You really makes us proud to work here! "
