Ally goes the extra mile to get customer's daughter the picture frame she wants
A big thank you to Ally Berry from our Irvine store who pulled out all the stops to help a customer get the specific photo frame they were looking for.
Ally, who's a service section leader, tracked down the last one in the store only to discover that it was damaged.
When he heard that the frame was for the customer’s daughter who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, Ally wanted to do everything he could to find a replacement. So the next day, on his day off, Ally drove 25 miles to another Asda store to find the exact frame and pick it up for the customer.
Ally said: "I checked when the photo frame would be next in stock in our store – it wasn’t back in for a few days – and as the customer needed it for the weekend I took it upon myself to check other stores.
"I know if I was in the same situation, I would appreciate the same. If finding the right photo frame for the little girl was the only thing I could do to make a small difference during such a difficult time for her, I didn’t mind in the slightest."
Store manager Diane Allan thanked Ally for his kindness and said the customer was really touched by his actions.
She said: ‘Ally regularly goes out of his way for our customers – but this time he went the extra mile, literally. Ally is friendly, approachable and nothing is ever too much for him – he wouldn’t have thought twice about going out of his way to put this customer first.
“We are delighted to have a colleague like Ally in our store and want to acknowledge his remarkable customer service. When we found out that he travelled to another store on his day off we were so moved by his warm-heartedness and generosity. The customer was so moved and wanted to give thanks to Ally – he is a real star.”
