Ninety-year-old Asda customer Elizabeth Crawford has found it difficult to get out and about during the last few months – so our Larne store's community champion Catherine McCallion has stepped in to do her shopping for her.

Catherine McCallion from Asda Larne

After hearing that Elizabeth couldn't make her usual visits, Catherine offered to deliver Elizabeth’s shopping and has been dropping her groceries to her door every fortnight after work.

Catherine said: “I just love delivering Elizabeth’s shopping to her – she really brightens up my day. I would drive to her house on a Wednesday and pick up her money, pop into store, get her groceries then drive back and leave them at her door.

“I think I know her shopping list off by heart now! I would never let her down and it’s great to get a chat anytime I visit. She is an amazing woman."

Catherine's kindness has seen her nominated for an Asda customer service award, while the team at Asda Larne also pitched in to organise a bunch of flowers to send to Elizabeth with her groceries to brighten her day.

Asda Larne's general store manager William Brown says he's really proud of Catherine for going out of her way to help Elizabeth.

He said: "Catherine has done a great job helping Elizabeth over the past few months – she has really gone above and beyond her role. Thank you, Catherine!”
