A big well done to ten-year-old Ruedi Moore whose colourful competition-winning Christmas card is now on sale at Asda stores across the country, with all proceeds going to BBC Children in Need.

Ruedi Moore at Asda Newton Abbot won competition to design Christmas card for BBC Children in Need

Ruedi and his mum Laura popped in to their local store at Newton Abbot to see the finished card on the shelves and to meet the store's community champion Jane Entwhistle and the team, who were so impressed by Ruedi's winning entry.

Jane, said: "It was lovely to meet Ruedi and put a face to the card! He was such a delight to have in the store and was so polite. We all loved his card – it was so bright and cheerful and I loved the little Pudsey Bear that he drew in the sleigh."

After receiving a huge amount of fantastic entries, judges narrowed it down to a shortlist of 10 before voting that Ruedi's design was the best.

Laura said: "I saw the competition and as Ruedi loves drawing – he aways has done from an early age – I asked him if he want to have a go at entering, I didn't think for one second that he would win, so it was a total surprise when we got the call to say that he'd won.

"When he found out he was just jumping up and down – he was so excited – and when he saw them on the stands for sale in our local store he was like 'Wow'! His dad, Antony, and I are are so hugely proud of him."
