How our stores are rallying round to donate humanitarian aid to help people in Ukraine
A big thank you to all our generous customers and colleagues who've been getting behind our efforts to support refugees from the war in Ukraine.
Along with our charity, the Asda Foundation, we're donating a £1 million package to support displaced Ukrainian families in Europe and the UK.
In addition to the support package, customers can make cash donations in our stores and on our grocery home shopping website to international charities working on the ground in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.
Our community champions across the UK are coordinating donations to local groups and charities supporting refugees. Here are some of the ways they've been lending the support:
Our Westbrook store's community champion Cathy Robinson has been helping organise collections in Warrington.
She said: "With generous donations for the Ukraine Appeal coming in from across Warrington, including donations from Asda Westbrook and Warrington stores, it was busy at Meadowside Primary. The school is where the Polish Saturday School is held and it has become the base for the big emergency aid operation run by our Polish community. Donations were sorted and boxed ready to ship out to the Ukraine refugees in Poland."
Here are our Glenrothes store's community champion Michelle Stevenson and store manager Dougie with Lisa from Collydean Primary School PTC with a donation for their Ukraine appeal.
Michelle said: "We were delighted to help and set up a trolley in the canteen for colleagues to donate to if they wish. I donated some goods using my budget and whilst Lisa was in store, I told her about the Asda Foundations Empowering Local Communities grant."
Havant colleague Carol has been knitting baby clothes in support of the store's appeal:

Our Wythenshawe, Altrincham Stockport and Wythenshawe Hollyhedge Road stores teamed up with Altrincham FC and the Rotary Club of Altrincham to organise a collection of essential supplies:
Lisa Kelly, our South Woodham Ferrers store's community champion, shared this photo of donations:
She said: "Three trolley loads of supplies going to Ukraine with local firemen this weekend. Thank you to all those that donated."
