'One in a million' Mandy's friendly service makes her a firm favourite at Asda Larne
"I love bringing a smile to people’s faces and I would definitely say I’m a people person. I think it is important to always be kind to people as I could be the only person they see that day."
That's what our wonderful colleague Mandy Linton says about working at our Larne store, where she's a firm favourite with colleagues and customers alike for her friendly service and positive outlook.
Mandy, who's been at the store since it opened 12 years ago, said: "I enjoy building rapport with customers and other members of staff – we really are a family here at Asda and it’s important to support new colleagues when they’re starting out.
“I always try and live up to Asda’s values and I’m so grateful to be celebrating 12 years at this fantastic store.
“I love the fact that we all come together to celebrate one another and help each other when things are tough, especially over the past couple of years.
“Recently, a colleague celebrated their birthday and retirement at the same time, so we held a party with cake and afternoon tea in store. It was lovely to be able to celebrate our colleague and friend.
“The lady even came back in a few weeks after her retirement just to see us. I love that we’re all like a big family.”
Recently a customer sent in a letter to the store thanking Mandy for helping her husband get up and running with Asda Rewards.
She said: “Mandy has a great personality; she is such a happy and helpful person. She helped my husband download the new Asda Rewards app on his phone and she even showed him how to set it up so that he could start using it right away. Thank you, Mandy!”
Store manager Greg Wishart says Mandy's friendly service is legendary in the store.
He said: “She is one in a million! She has been with us from the very beginning when the store opened 12 years ago, and she is one of the most loved colleagues in store.
“Mandy is always in a good mood, she brightens everyone’s day and is famous for her cheerful tannoy announcements, with people even coming into store and asking to see her.
“We all love her at Asda Larne. She makes people feel welcome and is the bubbliest person you could ask for. Thank you for all of your hard work, Mandy!”
