Customers say popular Lancaster checkouts colleague Tricia is one-in-a-million

Everyone at our Lancaster store loves checkouts colleague Tricia Wood – with one customer getting in touch to say "I leave your store with a smile on my face" because of her friendly service.

One regular shopper wrote to store manager Zara Hunter to say how much she appreciates Tricia, saying: "Tricia is a truly awesome member of staff. She is very professional, friendly, polite and helpful. I try to use her till whenever I can just because of the welcome I get from her.

"She treats customers with the upmost respect. She always has a smile on her face which is lovely nowadays in this busy climate. I always recommend her to my family and friends. She is a one in a million. She's always upbeat .

"We generally have a nice chat about everyday things like the weather. She is such a positive person and never gives off any negativity.

"I can honestly and sincerely say that I leave your store with a smile on my face."

Tricia, who's 60 and has worked at the store for 17 years, says it is "absolutely amazing" to receive such feedback, but insists she's just being herself.

She said: "I treat every customer how they should be treated. I greet them all with a smile and they go away with a smile. I love the customers and the colleagues; we are just one big happy family here.

"I have my own customers who come back to me all the time. We talk about all sorts of things; the weather, plans for the week etc."

Tricia, who's been married to Jimmy for 40 years and who has three sons and three grandchildren, said: "When I first started at Asda all those years ago I had in my mind that I was only going to be here for a year, but it's my second home here now. It's got everything you could wish for in a job."

Store manager Zara says Tricia is a valued and popular colleague and the store is so proud of her.

She said: "Tricia has been serving our customers in Lancaster for 17 years and they absolutely love her.

"She often gets amazing comments about the fantastic customer service she gives and customers often ask where she is on her days off and even queue up at her till because they say she is professional, caring, bubbly and a credit to the store."
