Why this will be an extra special Valentine's Day for Ashington couple Laura and Robert
Valentine's Day will be extra special this year for Laura McDonald Wilson and Robert Wilds from our Ashington store after they welcomed baby Jaxon into their lives.
Thirty-one-year-old Laura, who's home shopping section leader, met produce section leader Robert, who's 35, when he started working at the store seven years ago.
Romance soon blossomed and the couple will be swapping the food aisles for the church aisles in May next year when they get married at St Cuthbert's Church in Bedlington, with a number of colleagues among the wedding guests.
Laura said: "We sort of knew each other in the store and then we went out on a Christmas night out and we started talking and it went from there.
"We kept our romance quiet for a long time, but when we did tell them they were dead happy for us. We do see a lot of each other at work too as I'm in the warehouse and he is on produce, but at work we are colleagues and partners at home.
"Valentine's Day will be a bit different this year though – just a quiet night in, the three of us."
Laura has worked at the store for 13 years, alongside her mum, Jacqui Wilson, who works on checkouts. They both started on the same day.
Laura, who's currently on maternity leave, is a regular supporter of our Tickled Pink breast cancer campaign, which supports the charities Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, so when she was pregnant with Jaxon she wanted to do some fundraising.
She said: "We decided that we weren't going to find out the gender of our baby so with the help of community champion Amanda we had a guess the name and weight of the baby competition to raise money for Tickled Pink. We had a list of boys and girls names. If it was a girl we would have named her Bailey! We raised £150 which is fantastic."
Amanda said: "Laura and Rob are a lovely couple and deserve so much happiness. They are looking forward to their traditional wedding next year and Jaxon will no doubt be a super-cute page boy."
