Six-year-old Tyler Salmon has had his comforter since he was born and doesn't go anywhere without it – so when he lost it during a shopping trip to our Melksham store with his mum Fraya Jones he was distraught.
Along with front-end colleague Sam Whitbread they searched the store high and low several times, but couldn't find it.
Sam, who has a four-year-old boy Lex, promised to keep her eyes open for it and two days later she spotted it tucked in a trolley. As soon as she saw it she contacted Fraya through Facebook, and Tyler was able to get it back.
Fraya said: "Tyler has autism, global development delay and ADHD and was so upset when it went missing and didn’t sleep properly.
"We were at the self service checkouts that day and Tyler had somehow managed to lose it. We searched the store three or four times and were baffled to where it had gone.
"It's a muslin cloth and he's had it since he was a baby. It's quite ripped and old and I was worried that someone may find it and put it in a bin assuming it was a dirty rag.
"Sam, bless her, kept hunting high and low and we were over the moon when she contacted us to say she'd found it. We can't thank her enough.
"We went straight to the store to pick it up and Tyler was so happy, skipping along as we left. He was so excited he fell over his own feet.
"Tyler loves Asda; he's been coming to the Melksham store since he was a baby. We probably pop in three or four times a week. He loves the toy section, especially the mini toys. I know quite a few of the checkout colleagues there as I'm there a lot and they are always friendly, helpful and polite."
Sam, who's worked at the store for three years, said she was only too happy to help.
She said: "I'm just so glad that I found it, and Tyler's got it back. Fraya couldn't thank me enough, bless her and I was over the moon for them."
Sam's manager Chloe Moroney added: "Sam is a really engaging member of my team who supports across the shop striving to deliver excellent service every day. I am incredibly proud of Sam; she is loved by the colleagues and our customers!"
