Asda delights Halloween fans with the first big Summerween homeware range from a UK supermarket
Halloween fans are taking to social media to share their excitement about Asda launching a dedicated Summerween homeware collection for 2026 – saying it’s “everything you need for a Hot Ghoul Summer”.
The George Home collection blends traditional spooky Halloween motifs with the bright, vibrant aesthetics of summer – from Jack-o’-Lantern pineapple cushions and watermelon skull decorations to a hot pink “Just waiting for Halloween” metal tumbler and bedding that features ghosts chilling at a swimming pool party.
The Summerween trend took off in the early 2020s when Halloween lovers started throwing spooky-themed pool parties and summer gatherings and posting videos and pictures of them on TikTok and Instagram. They had to come up with DIY solutions to give things from their Halloween collections a summer twist – but now Asda has responded to the growing trend with the first major Summerween range from a UK supermarket.
And Halloween obsessives are over the moon – like Halloween blogger Spooky Wil, who posted on Facebook: “If someone had said to me ten years ago that stores would have Summerween ranges… I’d have not believed them for one second and yet here we are!!”
@regan_wilson on TikTok says she’s “obsessed” with the new bedding she picked up from the Summerween collection – the “absolutely bloody awesome” Cherry Skulls Duvet Set, “10 out of 10” Ghoul Party Reversible Duvet Set and Boos Cruise Reversible Duvet Set.
She said the Boos Cruise design is her favourite: “I’m obsessed with this one … It’s got Beetlejuice lollies on it, watermelon pumpkins, regular pumpkins. We’ve got flip flops, we’ve got pirate flags, we’ve got surfboards, we’ve got hibiscus flowers, we’ve got eyeballs in the middle … And the back is sick as well. It’s all pink and black. I freaking love this.”
@apartment_605 on Instagram posted about being “physically in June” but “mentally in October” after buying the Jack-o’-Lantern pineapple cushion and “Just for Halloween” metal tumbler.
TikTokers say the George Home Summerween collection is “perfect for anyone who loves Halloween all year round”

Where does the concept of Summerween come from?
“Summerween” is a mash-up of summer and Halloween that’s all about celebrating an additional spooky season in summer.
The name dates back to a 2012 episode of the animated Disney Channel series Gravity Falls where the inhabitants of the fictional town of Gravity Falls love Halloween so much that they also celebrate Summerween in June – with quirky traditions like light-up “Jack-o’-melons” made from watermelons instead of pumpkins. You can see the Summerween episode on the Disney Channel Animation channel on YouTube.
Summerween remained a niche fandom reference for several years before starting to gain traction on social media in the early 2020s and really taking off from 2023 and 2024 onwards as more people joined in, holding Summerween parties and movie nights and decking out their homes with Halloween décor. Some TikTokers say June 22 is the day to celebrate Summerween based on the Gravity Falls episode where one of the characters, Grunkle Stan, points to the date on a calendar. But most Halloween fans now regard it as just the start of a much longer spooky summer season. As of June 2026, there have been more than 400,000 posts using the #summerween hashtags on TikTok and Instagram.
