£18,500 donation to modernise Rock Ferry Salvation Army's community hall
Our Asda Bromborough store's community champion Helen-Louise Sestan-Burton and store manager Katie Coburn presented a cheque for £18,572.84 to the team at Rock Ferry Salvation Army to help modernise and refurbish their heavily-used community hall.
Dominic Eaton from the Salvation Army said they were absolutely thrilled with the Asda Foundation grant.
He said: "As part of our refurbishment we are putting in a new welcoming entrance to make it more user friendly. We are also going to improve the toilets and storage facilities.
"If we had not received the Asda grant it would have taken us such a long time to fundraise. We can't thank Asda enough.
"We have very good links with Helen-Louise and we have done many fundraising initiative with the store. Customers were so generous with donation of toiletries and toys for our Christmas appeal."
Helen-Louise said: "I was so proud to be able to support Rock Ferry Salvation Army in this very significant way.
"This group provide so many valuable services for the community from sheltering the homeless, providing food parcels to those in need, too offering a space for the whole community to utilise – mums and tots, knit and natter, lunch clubs, messy church children's club and so much more."
