Elvis impersonator Jason Phillips from Asda Basingstoke

Our talented bakery colleague and Elvis Presley impersonator Jason Phillips has been entertaining residents at various elderly care homes in Basingstoke.

Jason regularly joins our Basingstoke store's community champion Linda Butcher, who volunteers at many of the homes, to belt out classics from The King of Rock'n'Roll.

Jason said: "I've always loved Elvis and he's a great inspiration to me. It all started when I sang a few songs at a family party a few years ago and it's gone on from there.

"Linda found out about it and asked if I'd perform at some of the local care homes, and I said I'd be honoured to.

"I always get a great reception, which is wonderful. I like to perform Elvis songs from all the decades. Many of the residents can remember Elvis performing the originals, and it's so nice to recreate that vibe and bring some memories back for them – they love it!"

We think Jason's a star act ... just don't step on his blue suede shoes!
