Colleagues from Asda Larne helped to collect a staggering 30 bags of rubbish during a litter pick in the community.

Members of Mid and East Antrim Council also joined in to help with the big clean-up.

Larne store manager Stuart said: "I love getting involved and taking part in community activities, such as the litter picks. It's a way of giving back to the local area. We’re really pleased to have had the opportunity to team up with the council for the Clean Coasts Campaign.”

The council's recycling officer Barry Tapster said he was grateful for the help and support provided by Asda: "Most of the rubbish we collected was plastic – which doesn’t breakdown and proves detrimental to our rivers, oceans and wildlife. I’d like to say a massive thank you to the colleagues from Asda Larne for their support and urge others to do the same.”
