Colleagues from our Radcliffe store presented a new children's hospice in Bury with a £20,000 donation from the Asda Foundation.
The money will help to fund the opening of Grace's Place, which is part of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and will support children from North Manchester with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Its services will include complementary therapies, counselling, time out support for parents and siblings and even practical help with household tasks that those caring for sick children have little time to complete.
The donation will help the charity to pay the wages of its expert clinical staff as well as fund the supplies and equipment the charity needs to operate.
Grace’s Place's application to the Asda Foundation was supported by our Radcliffe store’s community champion Stephen Bonsall, who's keen to help local community projects wherever possible.
Stephen said: “This is a tremendously exciting donation and as a store we’re so proud to have helped an amazing local cause obtain this fantastic funding from the Asda Foundation.
“This grant will be put to great use by Grace’s Place and we look forward to seeing the massive impact it will have on local families in need.”
