Colleagues at Asda Kendal held a baking competition to support our Tickled Pink breast cancer campaign

A big thank you to everyone at our Kendal store who's been getting behind our Tickled Pink breast cancer charity campaign.

The store's community champion Sandra Shadbolt and her colleagues have been holding all sorts of fun events at the store to raise awareness and money for the appeal – including a baking competition.

The campaign supports the fantastic work of Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now and is a particularly important cause for Lynne Cullen from the store.

Lynne, who helped pick the winning entry, said: "Tickled Pink is very close to my heart as I was diagnosed with breast cancer 13 years ago, just before my 50th birthday, so I always get behind it – and it means a lot to see that my colleagues do too.

"The Tickled Pink bake-off was lovely – a great idea."

Sandra, who organised the event, said: "It was brilliant! We had more than 20 cakes to taste which colleagues had baked.

"Lots of colleagues donated money to Tickled Pink and really got involved."

The competition was won by Diana Chapman, who baked this delicious strawberry sponge cake.
