Throughout February and March, we asked colleagues and customers at our Birkenhead store to donate treats they've given up for Lent to a local good cause.
A box was set up next to our checkouts, and these were generously filled with goodies. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all those who donated.
These items have now been presented to The Charles Thompson Mission – a local charity which helps local homeless people by providing them with hot food, clothes, toiletries and other essentials.
Community champion Nichola Harwood said: "We are so pleased that the Lent challenge was well received by our customers and colleagues. We had to empty the Lent box weekly, which is a great result.
"Our store has been supporting The Charles Thompson Mission for a while now, and it provides so much support for people locally. They were thrilled when we handed over all of the goodies and treats."

The items will go a long way to helping the residents that visit us on a weekly basis."
