Donegal Hospice receives Green Token Giving donation at Asda Strabane

Donegal Hospice won our Strabane store's Green Token Giving vote and received an Asda Foundation cheque for £500.

The hospice, which provides care for terminally ill patients across County Donegal, will use the donation to pay for medical equipment.

Isobel Doherty, administrator and fundraising coordinator at the hospice, said: "We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Asda Strabane shoppers for nominating the hospice to receive a donation. The funds will be used to purchase vital supplies, including medical equipment, to assist with the care and comfort of our patients.

"Alongside our palliative care service, we also provide emotional and practical help at both the hospice, and through our homecare nurses."

The store's community champion Matthew Tracey said: "I heard about the work of the organisation through my colleague, Margaret McConnell, and I knew it would be a service which local customers would be keen to support through our Green Token Giving scheme.

“The Asda Foundation is helping a service which is there for people when they need it most, and I am proud to be a part of providing this support.”
