Our Pilsworth store's community champion called in at the Enterprise Centre in Tottington to present its founder Alison Hornsby with a cheque for £6,000 from the Asda Foundation.
The money will help the charity expand its café and and add decking, an awning and other eqipment to make it into a welcoming space for visitors.
Through enterprise training and access to the benefits of nature, the charity aims to help develop confidence and self-esteem in young people living in the local area. It's been able to help more than 200 young people who struggle with a range of issues.
Alison said: “The donation has made a huge difference for the café and community garden. It’s turned what was a little hut into something substantial and we’ll be having our grand opening on March 2nd.
“The fact that we got money from Asda also translated into them helping us develop our community garden, so we’ve essentially almost doubled in progress thanks to the donations.”
