A big well done to Norman Bloomfield from our Byker store who's raised £8,000 for children's charities over the last eight years.
Martin, who's 48, started working at Byker Asda Living before moving over the road to our superstore when it opened in 2011. To date, he's taken part in six Bridges Bike Rides, five Great North Runs and the annual Children’s Cancer Run – and he's planning to participate in all of them again this year.
Norman's a keen supporter of the Children’s Foundation and the children’s cancer ward at the RVI Hospital in Newcastle and has worked with the store's community champion Ashleigh Longstaff to arrange sponsored back packs and tombolas in store to raise awareness and funds for the causes he's so passionate about.
Norman said: “I love my job here at Asda; colleagues and customers are fantastic and so supportive of my work day to day.
“It feels great to be in role where I can get involved with the happenings in the community, raise money for charity and continue helping those that need it most. I've no intention of stopping yet!”
Ashleigh said: "We're all really proud of Norman for all his hard work and what he's achieved."
