A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the official opening of our new Newton Leys store!
The Mayor of Milton Keynes Councillor David Hopkins was on hand to celebrate the opening by cutting the ribbon to the new store – alongside store manager Stuart Tarry, his colleagues from the store and local hero Ethaniel Kelly-Wilson.
Ethaniel was chosen to attend the store opening after topping a poll in the local newspaper asking people to suggest community figures to join us on the day. It was a chance to thank him for everything he does in the local communtity – including being Vice Chair of the Residents Association. Ethaniel organises litter picks, runs Residents Association meetings and updates the commmunity page – all while doing a masters degree and working full time!
He's known for his love of where he lives and was nominated by multiple people in the community, with great comments like: "He is Newton Leys and without him the community spirit would fall apart – he is selfless in all he does and I really don't think he knows how truly grateful we all are."
The new store has a fantastic range of fresh food and produce, an in-store bakery department, express pizza counter and rotisserie.
Customers looking for a quick bite to eat will love the delicious food-to-go range. You can also click and collect from the store for hassle free shopping – simply order online, select a pick up date and time, then go to the collection point in the car park to have your shopping put straight into your car.
Store Manager Stuart said: “The opening morning was a great success and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the Mayor of Milton Keynes and all of our new customers who helped to celebrate with us.
“It’s so exciting to finally unveil our store to local residents, and we’re looking forward to building relationships with the local community.”
