Good luck to Lyn Simpson from our Forfar store when she takes part in her first triathlon next month.
Lyn, who works on groceries, says sport has always been a big part of her life. She studied sports coaching with sports development at college, is a qualifiied swimming teacher, an aqua aerobics instructor and has played football for many years.
She said: "I have always wanted to do a triathlon and am looking forward to it. I believe in setting yourself goals every year to give you something to work towards, whether it be big or small helps to keep me motivated.
"There are times where I feel like I can't be bothered as life in general can be busy, but I push myself and always feel 100 per cent better and energised whenever I exercise."
Lyn has two young children and has previously taken part in Race For Life, raising money for Cancer Research, and Tough Mudder for liver disease research.
The novice triathlon in Forfar on July 21 consists of a 400m swim, an 11km cycle and a 5km run.
Lyn said: "The best bit of taking part in sports is not only making the life-long friends that I have met along the way through football, but by continuing to be a a role model to my children. I want to keep healthy and my children both love the fact their mum can keep up with them and want to learn from me."
Store manager Graham Mackenzie said: "Competing in a triathlon is such a fantastic physical achievement. She does everything with a passion which is great to see."
