Young footballers receive new kit thanks to Asda Foundation grant
Young footballers will be wearing a brand new kit for an upcoming tournament thanks to a £1,000 grant from the Asda Foundation.
Ballyclare Colts under 12 football team are training for the Foyle Cup in July, and the grant will help them buy new tracksuit tops and kit bags to wear at the six-day festival of football.
The team received the cheque from our Ballyclare store's new community champion Dawn Wilson.
Samuel McIlveen, who coaches the team, said: "We would like to say a really big thank you to the Asda Foundation, and also to Dawn for her help and support.
"Ballyclare Colts aims to improve the confidence and wellbeing of local children through sport. Staying active is important for everyone – and through participation in our regular training sessions, as well as competitions, the players foster lasting friendships through the club."
Dawn said: "I was thrilled to present the club with the donation. As the new community champion at Asda Ballyclare, it was lovely to meet the team and hear how the new kits will grow a sense of team spirit for the young players."
