We're backing Barrow's amazing Scarecrow Avenue event – and raising money for our fabulous Tickled Pink appeal at the same time.
Asda Barrow's community champion Gill, seen here with the store's scarecrow entry Polly Pumpkin, said: "As Halloween will be totally different this year, the local Leonard Cheshire group Youth Ability came up with the idea of households making and displaying a scarecrow in their gardens to bring a smile to children's faces. There are now more than 500 streets in Barrow and the surrounding areas which will be taking part in the Scarecrow Hunt on October 30-31. Families that want to take part, but would prefer to do something on a smaller scale, are making wreaths for their front doors or taking part in colouring competitions, and we are donating the prizes for the adult competition." As it's Breast Cancer Awareness month "Polly" is asking for donations to be placed in a collection bucket with the money going to Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.
