I was delighted to present Bideford and District Sea Cadets with an Asda Foundation Spaces and Places grant of £4,000 which will go towards their project to extend their building and create a new commercial kitchen.
The kitchen will not only serve the community groups that use the building, but also offer training opportunities for younger people looking for careers in the catering industry. The cadets will receive a further £1,000 when the building work is finished. The Asda Foundation grants, which range from £5,000 to £25,000, go towards transforming community spaces to bring people together and combat social isolation.
