Pupils at St Matthew's Primary School were delighted when our Bolton store's community champion Christine turned up to present them with 25 brand new laptops thanks to the Asda Foundation.
Headteacher Kay said: "St Matthew's are thrilled to have received the donation of laptops. They are going to be shared amongst our community focusing on families who are most in need. Parents who attend our English to Speakers of Other Languages classes will be supported by the donations, along with their children for home learning. We are very grateful to Asda for providing these, enabling us as a school to strengthen our home/school links." Christine has been delivering workshops at the school called Rethink Food which give the pupils an insight into wasted household food products and how this contributes to climate change. Pupils had to created a social enterprise, design a name, slogan and logo which was then branded upon a market stall provided to the school. The school on a weekly basis receives deliveries of food from FareShare which is distributed to the parents.
