The Asda Foundation has approved a £340 Supporting Communities grant for Centrepoint Outreach.
The funding was used to purchase a range of items such as plastic bowls, baking trays, jugs, measuring spoons, kitchen foil and storage containers for leftovers.
The items will help to make up 20 start-up kits which will be supplied to people participating in their online cooking lessons. The classes will be available to individuals who have recently secured accommodation, in most cases, after having been homeless. Centrepoint Outreach also provides practical and emotional support to anyone in the local area affected by homelessness, poverty or hardship. It provides facilities, services, activities, advice and information as well as signposting to other agencies.
