Throughout the pandemic, Asda Castlepoint has assisted local homeless hostel Michael House with their bike maintenance project. Michael House have in turn continued to support rough sleepers – and have also extended the project to keep key workers moving with puncture repairs, gear and brake checks!
Michael House's main focus has been the reconditioning of unwanted bikes donated to the charity, to support key workers, in exchange for a donation to cover the costs. To be Covid Secure, the project had to be scaled back, but it's now "full pedal ahead" with the help of a qualified bicycle technician, who just started volunteering.
