Tree planting day

By Amy Openshaw (Asda Clacton-on-Sea)

Thank you to Rolph Primary School for inviting me along to help at their tree planting day.

The Tree Council are running an initiative called ‘Young Tree Champions’ they gave the school 150 trees to plant. Every pupil came and helped plant a tree and had a go on the ninja slack line! The Woodland Pond Warriors welcomed me into their forest area, where they hold their forest school lessons. We were happy to donate watering cans for the ongoing care of this wooded area and biscuits to keep the hard working children going. Thank you to Mrs Sweeney for a great day, not only making a difference to our environment but also the well-being of the pupils and teachers too. At one with nature!
