Our community work has had a complete makeover this last year and we have had to think of other ways to help.
The Scottish SPCA have still been taking in sick, injured and abandoned animals but have been unable to raise the money it needs to run all the centres in Scotland. My local centre, Petterden, is where I used to volunteer. I still keep in touch and have helped with a few small donations. I made this lovely valentines chocolate board with materials I already had and used my in store budget to buy the chocolates. The staff at the centre wanted advice on what to do best with it to be able to make as much money as possible with staying socially distant and following government guidelines. I suggested a facebook raffle and I said I could run it in my spare time. I mentioned this to a few generous friends and before I knew it I had 6 other prizes including a valentines bouquet and a lovely afternoon tea for 2 delivered on valentines day to the winners door. Due to these amazing prizes we went for an ambitious £500 target. In less than 24 hours all 100 tickets went and we agreed to add another 10 so no one would miss out. Everyone paid on time and we even had a few anonymous donations which took the total raised to £575! Thanks again to everyone who took part and everyone who donated. The animals salute you!
