Checkouts colleague Donna makes poppies for Poppy Scotland appeal

By Fiona Cumming (Asda Dyce)

Our creative checkouts colleague Donna has already started making her knitted poppies to raise money for the Poppy Scotland appeal.

Donna, who's worked in our Dyce store for 22 years, makes them in red, purple, white and black and over the years has raised hundreds of pounds by selling them to colleagues and friends. Our store's community champion Fiona said: "Donna is so creative and the poppies that she makes are lovely. Everyone here loves them. Because of lockdown she's had more time on her hands, so she's way ahead. Donna asks for a donation of a minimum of £1 for the poppies, but often gets given £5 notes too. She's been making them for years and everyone wants one."
