A big well done to Karen Penny from our Gillingham store who's been thanked by the town council for her voluntary work during the lockdown.
As well as working at Asda, Karen has been home schooling her two boys, running her home and helping several people on her street who are shielding get their shopping and prescriptions. Karen took part in a scheme run by Gillingham Town Council which meant every road in the town had a dedicated volunteer who, when lockdown began, posted a card through neighbours' doors with their contact details to make they had the support they needed. To recognise their efforts, the council has now placed individual wooden hearts with the volunteers' names on – including Karen's – on a floral feature in the town. Well done Karen.
