I miss being allowed to facilitate activities with the residents of Fernbrook Lodge care home, who I've helped out every Friday ever since I started my community role eight years ago. We do lots of different activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, gardening or sometimes just a sit and chat and read out loud.
The care home quite rightly is still only allowing immediate families for socially-distanced visits, but I've spoken with their activities team and have been able to donate colouring books and pencils, puzzle books and a selection of magazines help keep them occupied, as it can get quite lonely at times.
I look forward to the time when I'll be able to return to continue my outreach work at Fernbrook Lodge!
