Our Golborne store's community champion Cheryl had great pleasure in presenting an Asda Foundation Space and Places cheque for £14,000 to the 1st Golborne Scout Group.
The money has been used to renew the Scout hut roof, which was in a dilapidated state. Ron, from the Scout group, said: "We've like to thank Cheryl and the Asda Foundation for all their help. We have had problems with the roof for many years off and on, particularly when we have had heavy storms. It's a massive relief for us to have had the work done." The Asda Foundation Spaces and Places grants, which range from £5,000 to £25,000, go towards transforming community spaces to bring people together and combat social isolation.
