We made a donation of biscuits and drinks to Shore Leave Haslar – a group based in beautiful gardens where Armed Forces veterans can receive therapy by getting in touch with nature.
There is always something that needs weeding or planting, so this is definitely one of my favourite places to help at. The volunteers are so friendly and always there to listen or get stuck into the work. You can see how at peace people are while they are there and it’s a pleasure to help them in anyway I can. I was pleased to find out from Nikki that the veterans have been able to access the gardens and that although there are restrictions this much-loved place is still available to them.
