I’m always in awe of how many people continually give up their time for others.
This week I met with Gary who has been helping run a new support group in the town called The Centre which helps those who are most vulnerable to help get themselves back on their feet. They offer a friendly face to those who are struggling and provide vital links and access to local services. On top of this The Centre offers space for socially distanced wellbeing support for other local groups who are able to use the group for therapy sessions. Gary contacted me and asked if we were able ti help with emergency grab bags which contain enough food to feed one person until they are able to get to one of our local food banks. Gary gives up his time most days to ensure that the local community have access to the centre which is proving to be a real life line in the community. I was pleased to be able to donate enough food for at least 30 bags and tea, coffee, milk, and cleaning supplies for the group.
