Military Volunteers at Asda Grantham

Lincolnshire Emergency Medical Response recently held an in-store fundraising event to help keep their invaluable service going. Their event included a display of various pieces of equipment they use, including a defibrillator and their first aid grab pack.

LEMR is made up of about 50 volunteers who are all serving military personnel or veterans. Their role is to support the East Midlands ambulance service as a first response group. They also provide demonstrations and training to organisations throughout the county of Lincolnshire and schools.

I'm photographed here with Matt Bailey, LEMR Volunteer. He explained that through the early pandemic lockdowns, he and other servicemen and servicewomen weren't allowed to attend work, so the RAF approved those volunteering with LEMR to be used to support to the NHS, saying that their service to their community was very important at that difficult time.
