The Queen's Baton relay came to tour Hereford before the Commonwealth Games begin. This meant many residents came to support and cheer the nine selected Baton barers around a circuit through the city.
I joined a wonderful team called 'hart' and helped Marshall the event. 'hart' have formed through 'HVOSS' Herefordshires Volunteering organisations service support.
Under instruction from the council myself and 'hart' helped keep the routes clear and the public safe. The atmosphere was exciting! The local representative baton barers and their stories were inspirational to hear.
The Baton left Hereford by canoe and travelled to Gloucester. Once the event had ended we finished with a litter pick along the areas where the crowds had gathered.
