200 face masks go to Ravensdale Complex Needs Care Home!

By Sarah John (Asda Killingbeck)

Lynda Holden, Operations Manager at Ravensdale Care Home in Whinmoor, which is part of the Exemplar Health Care group, came into store to collect a donation of 200 face masks which will support their PPE supply at the care home. Also pictured are Lynda's colleagues, Vivian Egwin, Katie Woodhead and Angela Marshall. This donation is part of Asda's recent commitment to donate a quarter of a million medical grade face masks to care homes in the UK. For a bit of context, Ravensdale use up to 520 face masks in a normal week, so this donation was greatly appreciated!

Naturally, the care home have faced challenges with Covid-19, but Lynda had a lot of praise for her team and said that everyone has really stepped up and continued to keep a bubbly attitude.

Residents who under normal circumstances would go for outdoor walks and be taken on away days to the seaside when the weather is nice (like it's been recently), have found it difficult having to stay indoors – but Ravensdale staff have made up for this by, in their own words, "bringing the coast to the care home" and have kept the spirit alive by putting a different themed activity on every Rainbow Thursday and getting the residents involved.

They're even hoping to get a Tik-Tok dance in before lockdown ends 😉 Love it!

Keep up the great attitude and effort guys!
