Last month we prepared a little surprise for staff members from Whitechapel ward who contacted me to help them with their project #stayConnected.
The nurses and doctors asked for help to get SIM cards for the old phones, which they received in the hospital from local people, to be able to activate WhatsApp on them and help their patients with Covid-19 stay connected with their families, as the hospital is currently closed for visits from family members.
It's amazing to see to such a great initiative from them, caring not only about the general health of their patients, but also about their emotional well-being – and as they have been currently working on designing and decorating a NO-VID room for their staff members to have a mental break from the dramatic work they been carrying on on the daily basis, we decided to step in and help!
At the end we not only helped them get the SIM cards required, made an afternoon tea hamper for the Doctors and Nurses to enjoy and get some decorations for their break room, but also our store Christmas tree found a new grateful home, as it turned out they are the only ward which has not got one yet!
After all, our patiently waiting for its turn and new home to be donated Christmas tree will be a nice reminder in December to the ward of Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel that there are people who are there for the NHS no matter what!
We are all in it together! #ThankYouNHS #StayConnected
